B-17

During World War 2, one of the most effective combat aircraft was the B-17.
It was known as being well made and would bring its aircrew home even under the worst of situations.
The other day one of the few remaining B-17 aircraft caught fire shortly after takeoff. The engine fire was noticed immediately and the pilot was unable to bring the craft back to the airport. So as in World War 2, the pilot looked for a spot to set it down. He chose a corn field.
By the time the aircraft came to a stop, the pilot had run out of cornfield and the engine was burning brightly. The entire crew got out safely, but the plane was a complete loss. Sad news for lovers of old warbirds.
You can find the EBook Kindle edition of this book, "Brothers by Fire" at
Amazon.com and at www.peaceriverbooks.com. The Peace River Books blog is updated each day.
Stop in once in a while. I'll try to write something new and informative about my book Brothers by Fire.
Good Reading,
Ron
